.The ABI PRISM 7700 Sequence Detection System is a fully integrated system for real-time detection of PCR (polymerase chain reaction). The system includes a built-in 96-well thermal cycler, a laser to induce fluorescence, CCD (charge-coupled device) detector, real-time sequence detection software, and TaqMan reagents for the fluorogenic 5' nuclease assay. Fluorescence detection between 500 and 660 nm is possible. The 7700 also can simultaneously measure more than one fluorescence wavelength per well. This means that endogenous controls can be run either as parallel reactions in separate wells or within the same well as the sample (multiplex PCR).
