Simultaneous ONH elemental analysis of inorganic materials

Elementar’s inductar ONH cube is an innovative elemental analyzer that can simultaneously determine oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen concentrations in inorganic materials. This high-precision ONH analyzer for metallic and ceramic material uses state-of-the-art technologies.

The inductar ONH cube is equipped with a long-life, solid-state high-frequency induction furnace, which makes it possible to reach sample temperatures of up to 3,000°C, while the advanced element detection technologies provide provision analysis:

  • Oxygen is analyzed by a wide-range IR detector, which is capable of detecting the whole concentration range
  • Nitrogen is determined by a well-known thermal conductivity detector
  • Hydrogen analysis is undertaken by unique electrochemical detection technology

These three pieces of technology provide precise and simultaneous three-element analysis in one cycle. For those who wish to analyze up to 5 elements with one device, please check out our inductar EL cube.

High-precision analysis

The innovative top feeding system and intelligent gas flow direction reduces dust and debris to ensure high tidiness within the whole device, making any tedious cleaning operations unnecessary.

Easy to use

The tool-free maintenance, intuitive operation and multi-language software make the inductar ONH cube really easy to use, while the optional 23-position autosampler allows a fully automated, high-throughput operation.

Automated operation

The inductar ONH cube’s user convenience and maximum robustness in 24/7 operation mean it fulfills all requirements for sophisticated research and development projects and daily routine operation.

Measuring method:

Analysis is conducted by fusing a sample with helium or argon at temperatures up to 3,000 °C. This is followed by purifying the analytical gas flow and analyzing the subsequent gas output. ONH analysis is completed according to most international standards.

Easy sample preparation and handling:

There is no need for special sample preparation, meaning all kinds of solid samples can be weighed using the instrument. ONH uses graphite containers & nickel capsules handling samples up to 1 g. For some analyses, additives may be needed.

Innovative technology:

The inductar ONH cube is the first ONH analyzer that works with a solid-state inductions furnace and is able to detect all three elements simultaneously. Hydrogen content is quantitatively measured with an electrochemical cell.

Linear single/multipoint calibration:

The operator is guided through the calibration by an intuitive calibration assistant. The transparently calculated calibration is editable, storable, linear and stable for months, and templates can be stored for future calibrations.

Low operational requirements:

The instrument takes up one meter of laboratory working space and only needs one 200 V electrical connection and one operating gas for maintenance-free, long-term operation.  No external heat exchanger is required, saving valuable lab bench space, thanks to a fully internal Elementar cooling system.

Fully automatic:

Automated and unattended operation is possible thanks to the integrated sample changer, while control is granted through Windows or optional 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software.
