We at Certified Scientific Instruments are proud to announce our sister company, Sierra Biosystems LLC, and their state-of-the-art brand new system, the Shasta 96/384 DNA Synthesizer. Made with pride in Sonora, California, this system promises to revolutionize oligo synthesis. For the first time in the industry a system that will speed up and multiply oligo synthesis with 384 and 96-well plates in a user-friendly design for high-throughput and quality results. This will bring down costs considerably and be a welcome addition to DNA research.

The first in a new line of high-throughput synthesizers from Sierra BioSystems, the Shasta 96/384 was designed for users concerned with speed and variety on the small scale. Not since 1999 has there been a DNA synthesizer built from the ground up to meet UL standards. Nor has there been a commercially available synthesizer capable of producing quality oligos of varying lengths on any 384 well plate.                                                                                                                                                Cost-effective performance:

• Autonomous synthesis of rows on 96 or 384 well plates
• Accepts most commercially available plates
• 10+ mers/hr
• Mixed Backbone capability
• Degenerates easily integrated
• Reliable, consistent dispense
• Wash station for easily clogged lines
• Specialty amidites positioned on lid to cut delivery lengths and waste

Solid construction

• Welded chamber forms hydrophobic atmosphere
• Kalrez seals last years in the harshest environments
• PEEK and PTFE fittings keep reagents safely within dispense and drain lines

Safe:

• Dual fail safes engaged at all points prone to user error
• Liquids and electronics kept isolated
• Built to UL standards and undergoing approval

Fully customizable

• Accepts either ABI style standard reagent bottles or Boston rounds
• 16 amidite positions upgradeable to 24
• Proprietary software can be expanded to fit any application
• All design elements can be modified to meet user specifications

Features soon to come...

• Multi-plate formats
• Robotic handling
• Trityl collection and analyzation
• Live camera feed
