Along with the brightfield condenser, this model also includes a high-NA oil-immersion darkfield condenser. Both the variable-aperture lamp and the darkfield condenser are centerable, allowing for real fine-tuning of the field. The 1.36 - 1.25 NA of the darkfield condenser allows for better light-transmission with higher-NA objectives to provide increased resolution.
The included Plan 100X objective lens with built-in iris allows you to vary the effective aperture during darkfield observation, for fine-tuning the field's darkness.
