Included:

7 Liter Induction Chamber

8.25"W x 8.75"D x 5.75"H

Designed for extra large rats, ferrets and small to medium rabbits. It can also be used for multiple animals.

This anesthesia system maintains an accurate flow rate to any circuit, unlike stopcock or gang-valve delivery systems

The short, easy-to-follow protocol requires no calculations and no flowmeter adjustments. Six individual connections allow any combination of connections to breathing circuits and chambers. Specific gas flow is provided to each animal, regardless of the number of circuits or the length of the tubing. Lower preset flows create less waste gases, resulting in lower trace exposure to the user. The system can be placed on a countertop, mounted on a wall, or installed on a cart to make the system mobile.

Theory of Operation:

Traditional anesthesia machines require the operator to calculate a needed flow rate based on the circuit load, then carefully adjust a flowmeter to meter oxygen through a vaporizer that delivers a specific concentration of anesthetic vapor. Each time a circuit is added or removed from the system, the operator must recalculate the flowrate and re-adjust the flowmeter.

The RC2 – Rodent Circuit Controller completely eliminates the need to calculate flowrates and flowmeter adjustments by incorporating advanced pneumatic components to deliver preset flows of anesthetic gas to 6 independent patient circuits. Because each circuit is controlled simply by an ON/OFF switch, the RC2 – Rodent Circuit Controller allows the operator to quickly and conveniently add (activate) or remove (deactivate) circuits without the cumbersome need to recalculate the flowmeter setting; regardless of how many circuits are on or off, the flowrate in each active circuit is automatically controlled and adjusted by internal pneumatic components to consistently and accurately deliver the preset flowrate to the remaining active circuits.

All oxygen flowrates are independently preset:

*Any combination of circuits can be used without readjusting oxygen flows

*All circuits are unaffected by the resistance occurring in split lines

*Any combination of non-rebreathing circuit styles can be used

*Any circuit length or combination of lengths can be used

Circuits 1 thru 4 are preset to 500 cc/min flow:

*Sufficient oxygen without excessive waste

*Oxygen flows cannot be set too high causing leaks around nosecones or facemasks

Circuits 5 and 6 are preset to 1,000 cc/min with Oxygen Flush Assemblies.
Circuits 5 and 6 have higher flowrates to accommodate larger animals.

*Faster inductions, chamber saturation takes only 1 or 2 minutes

*Flushing saturated chambers complies with OSHA waste gas

By having circuits preset, several things are accomplished:

1. Activating or deactivating one circuit will not affect the other circuits.

2. Accurate, known volumes of metabolic oxygen are delivered to each patient.

3. Waste anesthetic gases can be reduced or eliminated by precluding the tendancy to leave flowmeters at high levels.

4. Elimination of cumbersome flow calculations and flowmeter adjustments.

5. Increased accuracy of delivered anesthetic gases.
