Brand: Diamante Scientific

Features:

  • OUR PLATES ARE PRE-POURED. DON'T WASTE TIME POURING AGAR. The plates are pre-poured, SDA (Sabouraud Dextrose Agar). Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a selective medium primarily used for the isolation of dermatophytes, other fungi and yeasts but can also grow filamentous bacteria such as Nocardia. INDUSTRY USE: Food Safety, Cosmetics, and Clinical.
  • THESE SABOURAUD DEXTROSE AGAR PLATES HAVE A SHELF LIFE OF LONGER THAN ONE YEAR, WHICH IS MORE THAN DOUBLE TODAY'S STANDARD AND ARE MANUFACTURED IN THE USA. Our plates won?ÇÖt crack or dry out. They have a thick layer of agar which promotes good growth, have been professionally packaged and vacuum sealed in a level 5 cleanroom for a longer shelf life.
  • THIS PACKAGING PROCESS IS PATENT PROTECTED. We use a method of vacuum-packing our petri plates in an inert gas environment that enables long term storage of many types of petri plates at room temperature for two years or more without deterioration of the nutrient agar contained in the filled plates. Standard storage times and conditions for traditional, sleeve-packed petri plates are normally three months in a refrigerated environment.
  • PLATE DIMENSIONS. The plates are 100mm in diameter x 15mm deep. The agar in the plates has a depth on average of 6-7mm.
  • DESCRIPTION: 0.5% Enzymatic Digest of Casein, 0.5% Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue, 4% Dextrose, 1.5% Agar.

Details: Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, otherwise known as SDA or Sab Dex Agar, is a selective agar medium used for the cultivation of dermatophytes and both pathogenic and non-pathogenic yeasts and molds but can also grow filamentous bacteria such as Nocardia. This medium is also employed to determine mycological evaluation of food, contamination in cosmetics and clinically to aid in the diagnosis of yeast and fungal infections. The SDA media is comprised of enzymatic digest of casein and animal tissues which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is the fermentable carbohydrate and inhibits bacterial growth due to its high concentration. Agar is the gelifying agent.
