Details: " Enclosures provide a controlled environment in which to perform polymerase chain reaction (PCR) procedures. The enclosure frame, top, back, airfoil, and interior upper panel are constructed of epoxy-coated steel and aluminum, and the optional work surface has raised edges to contain spills. Each hood features an angled sash to provide closer, more comfortable viewing than vertical sashes. The sash has a working sash height opening of 24cm (9") that pivots upward and locks to a loading height of 50.8cm (20"). Front-mounted blower and light switches are located within easy reach of the operator, and a front-mounted Minihelic pressure gauge monitors differential pressure across the HEPA filter. Two utility ports allow passage of tubing and electrical cords through the back. An optional built-in Guardian airflow monitor continuously monitors airflow and alerts the user to velocities outside of the preset range through LED and alarm indicators. The variable speed blower with solid-state speed control maintains proper air velocities. A diffuser, located at the top of the work area, stabilizes the airflow through the work area and protects the surface of the HEPA filter from possible damage from apparatus inside the enclosure, while a rear exhaust grill minimizes air turbulence in the work area. A prefilter traps large particles to extend the life of the HEPA filter, which removes 99.99% of all particles > - =0.3micro-meters, and an aerodynamic airfoil allows filtered air to sweep the work surface, keeping particle counts in the work area at ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) conditions. Tempered safety glass sash and side panels provide a naturally illuminated work area. A fluorescent light is located outside of work space for easy access, and the UV light, with a variable digital timer provides continuous or timed UV light exposure in intervals of 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120, and 240 minutes to deactivate DNA and RNA contaminants and to ensure thorough decontam
