Details: The Grant Instruments LMC-3000 centrifuge is a variable-speed centrifuge with speeds from 100 to 3,000 rpm. This centrifuge is compatible with four interchangeable rotors (sold separately) that can accommodate up to six 50mL tubes, or two standard 96-well microtitre plates. The unit detects rotor imbalance for reduced wear and decreased noise and vibration. The centrifuge comes with a 1 to 90 minutes timer and automatically turns off when a timed procedure completes, for data accuracy. This centrifuge is designed to be a low-speed, general purpose benchtop centrifuge for use in medical, biochemical, industrial and other types of laboratories to perform tasks such as sedimentation of cells, and analysis of bacteria, yeast, and blood samples. This centrifuge is non-refrigerated and does not have temperature control features. Specifications Maximum speed Rotors holding tubes: 3,000 revolutions per minute (rpm); Rotors holding microtitre plates: 2,000 rpm, variable Maximum relative centrifugal force (rcf) 1,700xG Timer 1 to 90 minutes with automatic shut-off Maximum noise level ?ëñ65dBA Power 120V 50/60Hz Motor Brushless Weight 13.5kg Dimensions 235 x 420 x 495mm (H x W x D) Rotor Sold separately Rotor maximum capacity Rotors holding tubes: 6 x 50mL tubes H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. A centrifuge is used to spin fluids of different densities to separate various parts, commonly blood and DNA samples. Centrifuges are composed of the main body or housing and a spinning rotor. Tubes of cellular material suspended in liquid are inserted into the rotor and spun at various speeds to separate components. Centrifuges are used in medical, industrial, and research laboratories, as well as academic and clinical settings.
