Branson Sonifier 101-063-198 Model S-450A Cell Disruptor, 115V, 60 Hz, 400W, 1/2" Tapped Horn

The Branson Sonifier 101-063-198 Model S-450A Cell Disruptor is a benchtop analog ultrasonic homogenizer that has automatic tuning with memory, output power control and monitoring, and a tapped disruptor horn for liquid processing applications such as cell disruption, emulsification, dispersion, and acceleration of chemical and biological reactions. This analog unit includes a power supply, a converter, and a 1/2" tapped disruptor horn. The converter changes standard electrical power to high frequency ultrasonic energy, which is then applied to the horn where it transmits ultrasonic energy into a solution. The dimensions of the horn and the output control setting determine the amount of amplitude (tip movement) and degree of ultrasonic activity in the liquid. A smaller tip diameter will have a higher amplitude, where a larger tip diameter will have a lower amplitude but can accommodate larger sample volumes. This titanium horn is supplied with a removable flat tip and can accept tapered microtips (sold separately) for processing samples in small diameter vessels. Built-in automatic tuning with memory (AT/M) provides amplitude control and storage of frequencies at the end of each cycle.

This homogenizer operates continuously, pulsed, or timed with a 0 to 15 minute mechanical timer. Pulsed operation minimizes over-heating of thermally sensitive samples, and timed operation allows the operator to control the processing time without continual monitoring. An adjustable output power control helps manage power to meet the needs of each application, and a power meter allows for monitoring of the power during processing. This analog ultrasonic homogenizer has a chamber capacity of 1 to 500mL for broad range liquid processing and is suitable for cell disruption processes in laboratory experiments, research studies and clinical applications.
