This CM 30 has been in a research environment all of its life and very well maintained. We have replaced the camera with a 10 MB digital system, the objective lens power supply is new, all other lens power supplies are relatively new. Vacuum system is in excellent shape, it has a new HT cable, and the gun has been rebuilt. So, over the years it has been completely refurbished and upgraded to be a reliable 300 keV imaging system. However, just before its decommission, the HT would not come on, although it had been working perfectly try up until then. The technical staff that maintain the instrument did extensive trouble shooting and believe the problem to be a control board, not the tank, though there is no guarantee of this. All other aspects of the scope are in excellent shape and maintained by a technical staff that specializes in this instrument. It was professionally decommissioned.
