This Instek PSW series single-output programmable switching DC power supply unit provides a constant source of DC voltage and current for powering and testing electronic devices. The power supply unit (PSU) has one output that supplies constant power output for multiple voltage and current ranges. The LCD shows the voltage and current reading simultaneously, and the display is readable in low light. Up to two PSUs can be connected in series for more voltage, and up to three PSUs can be connected in parallel for more current (connection cables sold separately). The constant current/constant voltage priority feature helps prevent damage to the device under test due to current spikes, such as in applications with LEDs and batteries. An adjustable slew rate controls the rise and fall time of the output voltage or current to help prevent damage to the device under test. The PSU has a USB and LAN interface for connecting to a computer (USB cable included) for remote control. Software download is included for remote control and testing applications. An analog control input on the rear panel allows the PSU to be controlled by an external device. A power cord with a three-prong plug is included for connecting the PSU to a grounded outlet, and test leads are included. Also included is a basic accessories kit with nuts, screws, washers, an air filter, an analog protection dummy, and an analog control-lock lever, for maintaining and setting up the PSU. A built-in cooling fan helps prevent overheating. Overcurrent and overvoltage protection help prevent damage to the PSU and the device under test.
