The BestScope BS-5092RF Polarizing Trinocular Compound Microscope has five interchangeable 22mm 10x extra-widefield plan eyepieces, a Bertrand lens, a 30mm trinocular port, a reverse-mounted nosepiece with five strain-free plan achromatic objectives, reflected halogen illumination, coaxial nested coarse and fine focus, and a rotating round stage. Plan eyepieces provide improved focus over the entire field of view (FOV). The built-in Bertrand lens enables viewing of conoscopic images (interference figures). The trinocular viewing head has a Siedentopf binocular head with interpupillary adjustment and fixed inclination to reduce eye and neck strain; and a trinocular port that accepts a camera adapter (sold separately). A Siedentopf binocular head enables the viewer to change the interpupillary distance without changing the tube length, eliminating the need to refocus the image. The microscope comes with five EWF10x eyepieces, one of which has a crosshair scale, one with a crosshair, and one with a grid. A reverse-mounted nosepiece keeps objectives out of the way to prevent damage and contamination, and to enable more secure slide handling. Strain-free objectives minimize distortion. Plan achromatic objectives provide color correction and improved focus over the entire range of the viewing field.
