The BestScope BS-5070BTR Polarizing Siedentopf Binocular Compound Microscope has four interchangeable 10x widefield eyepieces, a Bertrand lens, a reverse-mounted nosepiece with five strain-free infinity plan achromatic objectives, halogen illumination, coaxial coarse and fine focus, a 0.9 NA Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm, and a rotating round stage. The built-in Bertrand lens enables viewing of conoscopic images (interference figures). The Siedentopf binocular head has interpupillary adjustment, fixed inclination to reduce eye and neck strain, and rotation capability to provide a more comprehensive view and enable sharing. A Siedentopf binocular head enables the viewer to change the interpupillary distance without changing the tube length, eliminating the need to refocus the image. The microscope includes two standard WF10x eyepieces, one WF10x eyepiece with cross-hair scale, and one WF10x eyepiece with reticle. A reverse-mounted nosepiece keeps objectives out of the way to prevent damage and contamination, and to enable more secure slide handling. Infinity plan objectives provide focus over the entire range of the viewing field, and a longer working distance for improved focus when auxiliary components are utilized. Strain-free objectives minimize distortion. Achromatic objectives provide color correction of magnified images.
